Green light...but foot is still on the break!

Today's meeting with the neurosurgeon and anesthesiologist went well. We got the green light for surgery!!!

Jake is healthy and strong and free of infection and ready. But.... yes there always seems to be a "but"...we are waiting for a date from the plastic surgeon as to when he is available for surgery. Hmmm last time in the hospital it was the other way around. They said it will be within the month. ARGGGGGGG. On one hand I want them to call and say it is tomorrow....on the other we would like a little warning. But I told them that we will drop everything for this surgery.

But let's go back to "we got the green light for surgery"!!!! and would you join me in praying that it would be next week? Jake has waiting so long for this and "Lord? is it too much just to ask you to arrange the schedules of these doctors quickly?"

That is all I have for tonight. Thanks for hanging in here with us. I wonder often how if anyone is still with us and then someone mentions something about all of this and reminds me that at least a couple of people are still with us and that means a ton.

Not done yet.

I continue to check the blog daily as well. I try to pray for all of you regularly...it's easier for me to do that when you give specific requests.

Been thinking I should let you know that I am one of those Anonymous people that faithfully checks your blogs and prays. I have been so impressed with the way your whole family has faced and is going through this journey. It fits the view of God I have so much better than the Santa Claus one and so has affirmed my view of life and God in many ways. I haven't had to suffer yet, like you have, but when I do I hope I learn and cope in ways similar to the way you have.

Blessings in this next stage of waiting.

Tom - I've followed your son's remarkable recovery since August via your journal. My husband & I relocatd to Eugene from Aptos & Twin Lakes Church 2 yrs ago. I learned about Jake's accident & your website from the TLC bulletin. I've been a silent prayer warrior for your family since I began reading about Jake. I want you to know there are probably a number of us out here who silently read your journal and do not comment - an army of prayer warriors you do not know, lifting your famly up to God to meet your needs. Thank you for honestly sharing Jakes recovery process & your walk through the fire as a parent - your honest journaling has made a difference in my daily walk as a Christain. God is using you more than you may realize -

Keeping you all in thoughts and prayers and have been. Some of us are more the silent type. But your continuing story has already helped me with my story and I look forward to your updates. Please keep us all posted as we do shout "yippee".
