10:30 Friday Night

Tomorrow being the 4th of July is often a busy night at the Burn Unit. We have had the privilege of being around some of the most amazing people. Each one is unique in stature, nationality, personality etc but they share a passion, heart, and special ability to provide care - physical and emotional - in a most traumatic situation. We are tremendously thankful for them: doctors, nurses, technicians, maintenance workers as they brace for more who need their attention.

As we have read some of the comments and messages we are receiving, we are thankful for you who are joining us on this journey. Some are losing sleep to pray for us; getting up through night to check on Jacob. Wow. We are humbled - so unworthy of such caring and devotion for Jacob. We were told from the beginning eat well, drink water, exercise, sleep. Your faith and sacrifice helps me to sleep. Thank you seems so inadequate. But I need to thank you; every time I think of you I am compelled to thank the Lord for you and your ministry of love to Jacob and to us.

As the doctors spoke to us after the surgery, there was sense of relief. I was also was also overwhelmed: there is a lot more to come on this journey.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." James 1:2-4 NKJV

James, the brother of Jesus, knew trials of various kinds. Though I do not understand, though I am scared, though have never felt such pain - God is with me and the chorus of voices of the kingdom of God is quite beautiful. It is quite unbearable to watch Jacob go through this and to think of what is to come but the God of grace is with us.

Thank you for joining us on this journey. Now lets all get some sleep. We will need our strength for tomorrow God will be up watching over our boy.

Jacob's stats are good - he is resting.

Your words show a wonderful trust and love for our Father. He is a good God and always desires the best for all of His children. The bond of love within a family is incredible.

I am truly sorry for what Jacob and all his loved ones are going through. You are all amazing and the body of believers are behind you in prayer; for the gift of Jacob that God has given you.

My prayers are with all of you.

I just heard of Jacob's story. to his family I would like to say you have an amazing son. I was his Medical Tech teacher and the coord of the program. I had the pleasure of teaching Jacob several times when the regular teacher was out. I understand the overwhelming responce you must be getting. Debbie, Tom, Jensen and Robbie,

We check with trepidation and read with relief each update. Our hearts are filled with thanks for each little improvement. What a strong person Jacob is to continue to fight. Our family is thinking of you all constantly and sending you so much love. I'm glad you can feel it from all your friends and family and that it helps to buoy you during this journey. Debbie, Hannah is sending you the biggest hug...she hopes you feel it. What amazing strength and faith your family has....we are in awe.

we are keeping watch on Jacob's condition and always thinking about him and praying for him. We are happy to hear good reports and will continue to see God's work as he heals. After hearing of Jacob's successful surgery yesterday and reading your post last night that his stats were good & Jacob was resting, such a feeling of peace came over all of us for the first time since Sunday night! We know this journey will have many twists & turns, but we have seen God's miraculous hand of healing on Jacob already and know now that God is indeed hearing our prayers across the nation and we can continue to rest in His power as we diligently pray for each step of healing in the days ahead! Thank you for allowing us on this journey with your amazing family and for all your detailed & heartfelt & inspiring updates. Our hearts break with you and we hold all of you up in prayer also, knowing that we can't even come close to the intense agony you feel in your hearts continually. As a parent of a son Jacob's age, we can only imagine. And as Chris's close friend who we so enjoyed having around, Jacob had become like one of our family too. We can't wait to see that big heart & smile back again!!! Love & peace & blessing to you.
